JW&CO: Harris & Dainja not entering transfer portal
Memphis Tigers star PJ Haggerty entered the transfer portal while Harris & Dainja opted not to enter the portal
Dante Harris and Dain Dainja have opted to remain with the University of Memphis men's basketball team, choosing not to enter the NCAA transfer portal before the April 22 deadline. For Dainja it's unclear if he will be granted a waiver to play the 2025-26 season due to eligibility concerns.
Jeffrey Wright and Company discussed the news on 92.9 FM ESPN on Wednesday (4/23) on 92.9 FM ESPN.

Harris, a 6-foot point guard who joined Memphis midseason from Virginia, is currently the only scholarship player on the roster not in the portal.
Dainja, meanwhile, faced conflicting reports about his status. Although his agents initially indicated he would enter the portal, Dainja publicly refuted those claims, stating on social media, "Not going anywhere. No decisions have been made." He did not enter the portal before it closed and is seeking a waiver for an additional year of eligibility after averaging 14.6 points and 7.4 rebounds last season.
Their decisions could provide more stability for a Memphis program experiencing significant roster turnover, including the likely departure of AAC Player of the Year PJ Haggerty.
