Joel Corry joined Dukes & Bell and talked about what an extension for Julio Jones might look like “He held up his end of the bargaining he had a great year, so you can’t use the he’s getting older thing. I would expect them to add on three or four years, you could create some cap space for 2019 with a signing bonus and lowering his base salary and I could see his contract averaging around $16 million over five years.”

When asked about Grady Jarrett’s contract situation Corry told the guys “You’re probably going to have to franchise tag him, I’m not saying he is Fletcher Cox but you’re probably going to have to beat his deal and Todd France is agent so it’s not going to be the easiest deal to get done.”

Corry talked about what the franchise tag for Grady Jarrett could look like “ Depending on what the cap shakes out if its around $190 million it could come out to be around $15 million which will be tough because if it’s going to take most of what you have available in cap space.”

Joel told the guys how the Falcons could create some cap space for 2019 “If you’re looking at it from pure cap prospective Alford makes more sense to look go he’s only got $1.2 million in dead money so it saves you $7.9 million so it makes more sense to go that route than Desmond Trufant’s salary based on the way Trufant’s contract is structured.” Corry continued  “Where you can get some cap room is Ryan Schraeder lost his job, if he’s not starting he won’t make what he’s scheduled to make and if you cut him you pick up $4 million in cap space, and with the way Vic Beasley has played the last few years he’s not worth the $12.9 million fifth year option, but remember if Kansas City had moved on from Dee Ford they would have been kicking themselves this season and his career has been along the same as Beasley’s.”
