NFL Insider and SiriusXM host Adam Caplan joined Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to recap the 2019 NFL Draft.

Caplan on the Giants drafting Daniel Jones: “The way that they looked at it is they felt that when Gettleman was going to make the pick at 6 that Jones wasn’t going to be there at 17. We will never know for sure but I think he still would have been there.”

Caplan continued: “A lot of people thought the Giants should have picked Darnold last year. But if he is right about Daniel Jones all of the negativity won’t matter.”

Caplan on the Raiders draft: “Clelin Ferrell was someone who was going to go in the teens and they tried to trade down but couldn’t find a partner. If he is healthy, he will be like Brandon Graham. He is unlikely going to be a star but I think he is a solid football player.”

Caplan on the Falcons picking Chris Lindstrom: “He is such a highly graded player and he is a guard-center. Typically you don’t draft a guard that high but the Falcons think he is going to be a hell of a player.”

Caplan then talked about the Dolphins trading for Josh Rosen.

Caplan on the NFC South pecking order: “The Saints are clearly the favorite right now. They have the best roster from top to bottom.”

Caplan said if the guys stay healthy the Falcons could have their offensive line for a decade.

Caplan on Kaleb McGary: “He was a top-40 pick based on the information I had. He had a medical issue that concerned some teams. He is a plug-and-play guy. The Falcons had a nice draft on paper. This team should be in major bounceback mode.”
