While the 2025 Major League Baseball season is far from over, hopes of the Atlanta Braves reaching the postseason have just about dwindled as they have found themselves sitting 13 games back of the first place Phillies in the National League East standings and nine and half games back in the Wild Card standings with six games remaining before the All-Star break.

On Tuesday, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Abe Gordon engaged in a conversation and shared thoughts on why they agree in believing Atlanta making the playoffs this season is unlikely, however hope for next season being better can be provided in the remainder of the season as they discussed what they would like to see season throughout the second half.

“The one thing, and this is what’s most important, I want to get some sort of momentum feeling like it won’t be the same next year,” Gordon said as he explained what he hopes the Braves are able to showcase once they resume play after the All-Star break.

“That means I need to get (Michael) Harris going in some fashion, I want to see (Ozzie) Albies heat up in some manner,” Gordon added speaking on the importance for several Braves’ players who have been struggling this season, to have a strong showing the rest of the way this season.

“It doesn’t have to lead to a twenty and five month or anything like that, but I want to be given some reason to believe that this year is an anomaly that doesn’t turn into next year,” Gordon said.
