Everyone remembers Aaron Judge’s home run chase last season. If you were a sports fan, it was unavoidable. Every sports network known to man would cut into Yankees games as he sat on 61 home runs looking to set a new American League record. Will Ronald Acuña Jr. get the same treatment as he looks to complete a 40-home run/70 steal season?
The Braves superstar outfielder is looking to accomplish something that baseball has never seen before. His accomplishments would put him with the likes of Barry Bonds in terms of the combination of power and speed. But the question remains if the Braves can carry the juice that an international brand like the Yankees does. Did the days of the Superstation garner enough of a national audience to garner the same attention as the Pinstripes?
Dukes & Bell say that Acuña absolutely deserves the spotlight
"I think because this is such a special milestone when he gets to approaching 70 (steals) they should be breaking in and showing Braves games as he approaches these milestones," Carl Dukes declared.
With just nine games left to play after a 6-5 loss on Wednesday, the time crunch is now officially on. The chase for MLB’s best record is also still looming for the Braves, who have gone just 1-5 in their last six contests. Acuña’s chase for history could be just what the team needs to overcome their skid, as well as make this season one of the most memorable in franchise history.
