CBS Sports MLB analyst David Samson joined Dukes & Bell to talk about where the Braves stand as we near the end of the hot stove season and whether the Braves still the favorite to win the NL East?
Samson talked about who he thinks is the frontrunner in the NL East.
“I love the Charlie Morton signing, the Drew Smyly signing is less interesting to me but nice for depth,” Samson said. “I think the Braves are in a very competitive division. I think the NL East is probably the best division in baseball. But I think the best thing that happened to the Braves is that Steve Cohen’s new owner-itis in New York was not as big as I thought it would be and he did not end up getting some of the players who I thought probably would end up going to the Mets. Including one of Bauer, or Springer or JT Realmuto, I’m not a big James McCann fan in terms of winning the World Series.
“I just think that the Braves are the best team in that division when you look at Freddie Freeman on down, Acuña is another year older, Albies is another year older, bringing back Ozuna, I just think you’re in for a very exciting year.”
