With the Atlanta Falcons getting set to return to Flowery Branch in just over a week to begin training camp, while there has been some excitement generated in regards to how well the offense will be this season, the one lingering question which remains is just how improved their defense will be in 2025 with the additions of rookies Jalen Walker and James Pearce Jr. as well as free agents Divine Deablo and Leonard Floyd.

“I think they have an up and coming super star in the quarterback in Michael Penix (Jr.), I think this offense is really going to do numbers,” CBS Football analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion, Bryant McFadden, said on Friday as he joined John Fricke to preview the 2025 season and he explained he believes the Falcons offense is set up for success this season, however, defensively they may have more to prove.

“The biggest question mark with Atlanta is how good will the defense be? That’s the thing. You know, Atlanta over the past few years, they’ve had issues in two major categories defensively. Putting pressure and sacking quarterbacks and red zone defense,” McFadden continued as he noted the Falcons, who finished 31st with 31 total sacks last season, have to find ways to get ‘timely stops’ this year.
