Some would say it was only fitting the Atlanta Falcons, once again found themselves front and center of controversary when defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s son was revealed to be the individual responsible for the prank call received by Shedeur Sanders during this year’s NFL Draft.

As reported, Ulbrich’s son retained Sanders’ number from a work issued iPad which subsequently led to the Falcons being fined $250,000 and Ulbrich fined $100,000 for his role in not properly securing private information.

“I thought there was a chance that Jeff Ulbrich might lose his job,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said on Wednesday as he and Mike Bell reacted to reports by ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, which Ulbrich stated he never believed his job was in jeopardy as a result of his son’s actions.

However, for Dukes, with Ulbrich being new to the organization and the Falcons trying to move on from the Kirk Cousins injury drama, the firing of the newly acquired defensive coordinator would not have surprised him had it transpired.

“He just got hired, we’re not in season, this is costing the organization more embarrassment, more humiliation, and again, he didn’t have anything to do with the stuff that came prior to that, but you’re adding on to it. And so, there was a side of me that thought maybe Jeff might lose his gig,” Dukes said.
