
On Monday, Atlanta Hawks' general manager, Onsi Saleh spoke with members of the media and answered several questions in regards to Wednesday’s NBA Draft and the future of Trae Young with the franchise, to which he responded he is “locked in” on Young being a part of the team’s future.
“This is not a rebuild, this is not a slow build. This is are you ready to win right now?” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and co-host, Mike Bell shared their thoughts on Saleh’s comments in regard to Young remaining with the Hawks and why the team must prove they are committed to building a contending team around Young.
“Put some other pieces around him if you are truly committed because the next piece is going to be if Trae plays like he has, 28 and 12 or whatever the hell he’s giving you every other night, Mike he’s going to get a super max,” Dukes said, as he explained the financial implications of Trae Young could have on the franchise, therefore placing urgency on building a roster that is competing for a championship.
