The scenario could be really easy for the Georgia Bulldogs, win the SEC Championship and remain the number one team in College Football heading into the College Football Playoff. However, if Georgia loses to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday can the Dawgs still find themselves in the top four? Earlier today, The Morning Shift debated it and layed out some scenarios where the two-time defending National Champions can lose the SEC Championship and still make the College Football Playoff.
As long as the Dawgs don’t get ran out of Mercedes-Benz Stadium on saturday It is possible for Georgia to lose on Saturday and still find themselves in the College Football Playoff, but they will need a lot of help, and at the end of the day they will have to rely on the College Football Playoff Committee to put them in.
Georgia controls their own destiny right now, and obviously they are going to do their best to win the SEC Championship Game and keep it that way, but with some help it is possible that a close loss to Alabama could still punch Georgia’s ticket to the College Football Playoff, and allow them to opportunity to win a third straight National Championship
