Stetson Bennett was already set to have his story written in the UGA history books before last night's 65-7 victory over TCU, but now, after becoming the first Georgia QB with two titles, Stetson may literally and figuratively be "top Dawg."
While Georgia is a storied program with Hall of Famers, Heisman's, and plenty of superstars, nobody can compete with the legacy of Stetson Bennett, both in terms of his path, but also in terms of his production, especially when it mattered most.
When most people think about the University of Georgia Football team, they usually would think about two names, Herschel Walker and Vince Dooley, but after Smart and Stetson combined for a pair of titles, their stars simply shine brighter.
While Bennett probably is not the most talented QB ever to play in Athens (8 QB's from UGA have been drafted in the 3rd Round or higher), nobody has won more on a bigger stage, and been as impressive doing so. In four College Football Playoff games, Stetson Bennett has thrown for 12 TD's and just one interception, while adding another 2 TD's on the ground.
Stetson Bennett's teammates and even Head Coach Kirby Smart haven't been shy to crown him as THE legend among legends for UGA football.
