After eight months of analysis, the Georgia Tech QB competition, which featured 3 possible candidates, has ended with HC Brent Key naming Texas A&M transfer QB Haynes King as QB1 for the start of the season.
King beat out Zach Pyron and Zach Gibson in competition and, while it always seemed the most likely result of the QB battle, Andy and Randy discuss what Georgia Tech has in their QB1.
Haynes King played in six games during the 2022 season while at Texas A&M, including throwing for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns in a close loss to top-ranked Alabama.
It's an importance decision made by Head Coach Brent Key who is trying to rebuild the Georgia Tech program and is using the transfer portal to do so.
Haynes King and the Georgia Tech's first chance to show what they can do will come in primetime as they face-off with Louisville at 7:30pm ET on September 1st at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
