After losing to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI on a brutal fourth-down gaff, Joe Burrow kept his message short and sweet to Bengals fans after the team’s heartbreaking 23-20 defeat, apologizing to 'WhoDey' nation in a short and simple message.

"Sorry we couldn’t get it done," Burrow said on his Twitter account following the game. "Proud of our team and our fans. Love these guys.”
Burrow's tweet got nearly half-million likes and over 23K retweets as of the writing of this article. For the Twitter users that did respond, a bulk of the comments were positive, with many Bengals fans thanking Burrow for renewing their joy in their team.
"Apologize for nothing. What you have done for this fanbase is something the fans could never pay back to you. You are it for us,” WhoDey701 tweeted to Burrow.
“Thank you for installing the belief in this team again. The Bengals are back!!!! Next year, we RULE IT ALL!!!!”
Another Bengals fan thanks Burrow for the memories he provided him and his young son.
"Apologize for nothing. You were a warrior out there this season. We’re just getting started, Joe! Chin up! Thank you for everything you did for my son this year and for the memories you gave this lifelong Bengals fan and dad."
Even former Bengals star Chad Johnson was praising Burrow for something, not just the fans haven't experienced since the '80s, but for doing something his former Bengals' teammates never got to experience during their time on the team.
Burrow doesn't have too much to hang his head about heading into the offseason. He went 22-of-33 for 263 yards and a touchdown, putting the team in a position to win before the Rams’ final drive. His offensive line didn't provide much help, getting sacked for a Super Bowl record seven times. This would prove to be the deciding factor on the Bengals last drive of the game, leaving Aaron Donald free-range at Burrow which forced an incompletion on fourth down.
Despite the loss, Burrow admitted in his post-game press conference that he was going to celebrate this season, despite the loss. He also acknowledged that a loss on this stage would fuel the Bengals moving forward.
“We’re a young team," Burrow said. "You like to think that we’ll be back in this situation multiple times over the course of the next few years. We’ll take this and let it fuel you for the rest of our careers.”
