As the world of college football continues to change with conference realignments, the transfer portal and NIL deals, the Georgia Bulldogs may be the last team that we see accomplish what they have been able to do over the past two and a seasons, having won back to back national championships and currently riding a 26 game win streak. On Tuesday, on The Steakhouse on 92-9 The Game, Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation shared his thoughts on why what the Bulldogs are doing may never be accomplished again in college football.
“You know, what we’re seeing is history, you’re not going to see it again. If you’re listening, trust me, you’re not going to see Georgia win 26 games in a row in your life time. It’s not going to happen in college football,” Griffith would tell Shapiro and Golden as he explained how the changing landscape in college football is creating more parody. “The college playoffs are going to be deeper, it’s going to be a much steeper hill, so this is an opportunity to grasp history” Griffith added.
And while Georgia fans look to see the Dawgs extend their win streak on Saturday when they host Ole Miss, Griffith shared that the sentiment outside of Athens may not be quite the same. “Everybody’s got Georgia fatigue outside of Georgia, they’re ready to see Kirby and the Dawgs lose,” Griffith added.
