
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Penguins have made a big move on trade deadline day.
Pittsburgh has reportedly acquired forward Patrick Marleau from San Jose in exchange for a conditional 2021 3rd round draft pick.
He is signed through the end of the season and carries a $700,000 salary.
TSN’s Pierre LeBrun reports the pick will be a 2nd rounder if the Penguins win the Stanley Cup this season.
The left-handed Marleau has a 561 career goals and 625 assists in 22 seasons and is a three-time All-Star.
This season he has 10 goals and 10 assists over 58 games.
Marleau will continue to wear #12 on the ice. Dominik Simon offered the number to Marleau.
Simon will now wear #18.
Marleau will be heading right back to the West Coast this week.
The Pens begin a three-game road trip in Los Angeles this Wednesday against the Kings.
They then head to Anaheim Friday and San Jose Saturday.
Marleau's wife seems pretty excited about the move.
