Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will once again represent his home country of Canada in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.
Crosby was named to the team along with Edmonton’s Connor McDavid and Vegas’ Alex Pietrangelo.
Much to the chagrin of USA Hockey fans, Crosby has led Canada to gold medals in both 2010 and 2014. The NHL didn’t participate in the 2018 Olympics.
He’ll have an opportunity to tie his Stanley Cup championships (3) in Beijing.
While currently recovering from a wrist injury, Crosby is expected to miss the first handful of regular season games for the Penguins, but should be healthy for the Olympics that will run February 4 through 20.
The NHL will take a break between February 3 through 22.
Crosby also won gold medals for Canada in the 2005 World Junior Championship, 2015 World Championship and 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
