PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pirates have placed Keone Kela on the 10-day injured list and Colin Moran on the 7-day concussion injured list.

The Kela move is retroactive to August 24.

Right handed pitcher Nick Mears and Will Craig have been recalled and will be available for Thursday’s doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals.

On Tuesday, manager Derek Shelton said that Kela was doing well and that Moran was available.

But on Wednesday the team’s director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said that Kela had yet to pick up a baseball and that Moran was once again experiencing concussion-like symptoms.

Kela was pulled on Friday during a game against the Brewers when he complained of tightness in his forearm.

Moran was injured after a scary collision between Moran and Brewers centerfielder Avisail Garcia at first base this past weekend.

Kela missed the first three weeks of the season after contracting COVID-19. He has pitched in three games with 2 inning pitched and an ERA of 4.50.

Moran is batting .259 with six home runs, 17 hits and 11 RBI.
