Starting outfielder Jack Suwinski sent to AAA

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Expected to be one of their power bats and potentially lead the team in home runs, Pirates sent outfielder Jack Suwinski to AAA on Thursday afternoon.
Pirates recalled 26-year-old left-handed pitcher Jose Hernandez, who started the season on the active roster and got the Opening Day save and then had another stint which included a win against the Orioles before being sent down again. In six appearances in MLB, he is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA. At AAA, 13 innings, 11 earned runs in 12 appearances with 19 strikeouts.
In 144 games last year, the left-handing Suwinski had 21 doubles, 26 home runs and 74 RBI with a .793 OPS. This season in 49 games, just five doubles, four home runs and a .174 average and .565 OPS. The 25-year-old spent 31 games with Indianapolis in 2022 hitting .214 with five doubles and six home runs.
