Big Ben UNLOADS on Broderick Jones' offensive line struggles

During his Footbahlin’ podcast Tuesday, retired Steelers quarterback and future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger unloaded on offensive lineman Broderick Jones.

Roethlisberger didn’t hold back on his criticism of the third-year tackle during Tuesday's episode of Footbahlin'.

“Okay, no sacks, Aaron (Rodgers) still got hit a bunch,” said Roethlisberger. “There’s a play where Broderick Jones is standing completely upright and the (defender) basically runs right through him.”

Roethlisberger says the Steelers need to do something about it and says there is plenty of evidence that shows it’s happening too much for it not to be addressed.

Pomp and Joe reacted to Ben’s comments with Joe wanting to know if there is a coaching issue, being unable to develop Jones’ talent or if the coaching is there and he’s just not getting it.

Pomp says it’s likely a combination of both.

But, Pomp says while Rodgers did get hit too much, he wasn’t sacked and that has to mean something.

Joe responded and says that’s likely because Rodgers was forced to get the ball out so quickly, without good protection on the offensive line.

Wrapping up his point, Roethlisberger said that if Jones was going up against someone like James Harrison… the former Steelers linebacker would have “15 sacks.”
