Chris Boswell named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month
In Boz the AFC trusts.
Steelers kicker Chris Boswell has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
Boswell went 11-for-12 with field goal attempts last month during the first four games of the season.
That includes nailing 5-of-6 FGs from 50 yards or more.
Six of those field goals came in the opening game against the Falcons in Atlanta.
It was the only points the Steelers scored, and needed that day to win the opener 18-10.
Boswell's six field goals in the opener tied a franchise record.
He even had a 43-yard punt during that game, coming in to relieve punter Cameron Johnston, who is out for the season.
Boswell is in his 10th season in the NFL, all with the Steelers. He has won the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month award two other times in his career, January and December 2015.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was the AFC Offensive Player of the Month. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy was the Defensive Player of the Month.
