Based on social media posts and the opinions of most of the talent on our station, not many people want Matt Canada to return as offensive coordinator.
While the offense did improve as the season progressed, thanks in part to being able to establish a run game, the Steelers were still toward the bottom of the league in points scored.
The Steelers score over 20 points only twice this season, one a loss to the Bengals and another the last game of the season, a win against the Browns.
But even with that, one NFL insider thinks it's best for Canada to stick around.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio tells The PM Team changing out the coordinator may hamper Kenny Pickett's progress.
"Why disrupt it, if it's starting to work with Kenny Pickett, why bring in a new personality, A new coach with a new offense, why do you want to put Kenny Pickett through that?" asked Florio.
Florio also pointed out that several other quarterbacks have gone through different offenses and that has hampered their development.
"If you're all in with Kenny Pickett, as I think you are and believe that he's got the potential to be great as I think you do, you hamper him if you get rid of Matt Canada and hire a new offensive coordinator at this point," added Florio.
Long term, Florio says it might be better for them to get rid of Canada but for Pickett's early development it wouldn't be beneficial.
