NFL announces date/time for Steelers-Bengals game

How the start time and date impact playoffs

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As they've done in the last couple of years, the NFL leaving the final game of the season as an open date on either Saturday or Sunday of the final week. During Sunday Night Football, the league announced the Steelers-Bengals will play Saturday night at 8pm.

They will play the game after the Browns at Baltimore at 4:30p on Saturday afternoon. If the Ravens win or tie, they win the division. The Bengals need a win and a Dolphins and Broncos loss to make the playoffs. Denver hosting Kansas City and Miami at the Jets games will be played on Sunday. So there is no chance of Cincinnati resting players because they've been knocked out of the playoffs.


Steelers won the earlier game in Cincinnati on December 1, 44-38 as Russell Wilson threw for a Steelers-high 414 yards and 3 touchdowns. George Pickens had three catches for 74 yards and a touchdown, Pat Freiermuth six for 68 yards and a a score. TJ Watt had a pair of sacks and a forced fumble, Payton Wilson had a pair of fumble recoveries. Bengals QB Joe Burrow threw for three TD and 309 yards.

The last three straight and four of the last five have been won by the Steelers. Burrow in his career against the Steelers has more interceptions, nine, than any other team. He's thrown 14 touchdowns, sacked 19 times and has a 3-3 record. Najee Harris has his highest yards per attempt in the division (4.2) against Cincinnati. Pickens has 413 career receiving yards against the Bengals, 87 more than any other team.
