Infielder Tucupita Marcano has been up and down for the Pirates. He was claimed off waivers by San Diego.
Marcano batted for .233 for the Pirates in 75 games with the Bucs in 2023. He had 47 hits over 202 at bats with 18 RBI and three home runs.
Right-hand pitcher Cody Bolton was traded to Seattle for cash considerations.
Bolton appeared in 16 games for Pittsburgh last season he went 1-0 with a 6.33 ERA.
Cleveland claimed infielder/outfielder Alfonso Rivas off waivers.
Rivas came to Pittsburgh as part of the trade that sent pitcher Rich Hill to San Diego.
He appeared in 40 games for the Pirates with a .234 batting average with 22 hits in 94 at bats. He has three home runs and 14 RBI.
Infielder Vinny Capra was claimed off waivers by Milwaukee.
He played in nine games with hit .167.
