The Steelers released two players Friday, including cornerback William Jackson III.

Jackson never saw any playing time with the Steelers.
He was traded to Pittsburgh from Washington in November 2022, along with a conditional 2025 seventh-round pick for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
Jackson was benched by the Commanders in Week 5 last year, claiming he had a back injury.
Jackson reportedly requested a trade and was inactive for the next three weeks until he was traded to Pittsburgh.
Jackson was played on injured reserved by the Steelers on November 12, just under two weeks after joining the team.
Jackson has played in 75 career games in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Commanders over his six years.
He has 168 total tackles, six for a loss, five interceptions, returning one of them, one sack and one quarterback hit.
Jackson was owed $9.250 million this upcoming season and would’ve delivered a cap hi of over $12 million
The Steelers also released Carlins Platel.
He signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of South Carolina.
