PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Mostly good news on the injury front as the Steelers battle with a short week playing at Cincinnati Thursday night.
The worst is special teams captain Miles Killebrew who is out with a ‘significant’ knee injury. Tomlin said they may need to employ multiple people to fill all of the roles Killebrew does on the kick units. While they feel for Killebrew the person, it’s an opportunity for someone.
Tomlin was vague on receiver Calvin Austin, who did not practice last week. The Steelers only have one practice on the field for the Bengals, so it would have to be a quick recovery and it likely won’t be a full speed practice Tuesday for Austin to really test his shoulder.
Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) and Joey Porter, Junior (hamstring) were coming back from injury and said as of early Monday afternoon they had gotten through the game well. He didn’t mention Alex Highsmith, which is probably a good thing for me in terms of coming through the game ok.
