If you needed any proof that the Steelers defense is having fun, this is it.
During safety Minkah Fitzpatrick’s Zoom call on Thursday, linebackers Derek Watt and Bud Dupree “Zoom bombed” the call and answered questions for him.
“These are my ambassadors, they’re going to answer my next question for me,” said Fitzpatrick.
93.7 The Fan’s Eric Hagman asked Fitzpatrick about his impression of Titan running back and fellow Alabama alum Derek Henry while in college.
Dupree and Watt took over and answered for Fitzpatrick.
“I got this,” said Dupree. “Nick Saban first and foremost.”
“Great coach,” said Watt.
“Derek Henry, big, tall,” added Dupree.
“Nick Saban groomed me into the young man that I am today,” added Watt.
“Next question please,” said Dupree.
NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala asked the next question, claiming Fitzpatrick said it’s not his job to tackle Derek Henry.
“That’s not what I said,” said Fitzpatrick while Watt and Dupree said “whoa, whoa, whoa!”
“He said the key to stopping Derek Henry, is that the front stops him before he ever gets to the secondary,” said Kinkhabwala.
“See Minkah catches on interception and he is a fiend for interceptions now, he doesn’t want to tackle, he just wants to pick balls off and run them into the end zone,” said Watt. “And this is how we find out about it Aditi, dang!”
