Born and raised in New York City, DJ Chubby Chub, a proud representative of the Heavy Hitter SmashSquad, grew up inspired by Hip-Hop legends like Grandmaster Flash, the Cold Crush Crew, and DJ Kid Capri.
Chubby Chub launched his career by honing his turntable skills at local halls, jams, and house parties. His talent and dedication led him to create and host his own street mixtapes, earning him recognition and invitations to perform at events across the U.S. His big break came with the rap group Original Flavor, founded by Damon Dash and featuring a then-upcoming Jay-Z.
Over the years, Chubby Chub’s magnetic performances and skills have drawn collaborations with stars like Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, N.O.R.E., Kelis, Fabolous, and more. He joined Kelis on a nationwide tour with Britney Spears and has graced TV shows such as Rap City, TRL, 106 & Park, Live with Regis and Kelly, and Late Night with Carson Daly. In 2015, he earned the prestigious Global Spin Award for Online DJ of the Year while working with Power 104.1 in Hartford, CT, and later joined JAM’N 94.5.
In 2016, Chubby Chub received a 3X Platinum plaque for his work on Young M.A.’s smash hit “OOOUUU.” The following year, he became 50 Cent’s tour DJ, solidifying his status as a key figure in the Hip-Hop scene.
Chubby Chub continues to elevate his craft, joining 94.7 The Block as a guest DJ for holiday mix weekends and becoming the featured DJ for the "12 o’Clock Lunchbox" inside the Cipha Sounds Adventure.
