DJ Ted Smooth has been a staple in the New York City club scene for two decades. His unique style earned him the title “The Remix King,” as his remixes have been attributed to taking a hit record to the next level.
Tedsmooth has been the force behind some of the hottest remixes, including Jamie Foxx’s Blame it, Beyonce’s Love on Top, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake’s Suit and Tie, Miguel’s Adorn and Usher’s Daddy’s Home featuring Jadakiss, all receiving well over 100,000 hits.
The artist, producer, songwriter, and DJ is known for being the man behind Lumidee’s biggest hit, “Uh Oooh” and “No Music” by Voice of Harlem. In 2009 he was named “Best Blend DJ” at the 2009 and 2010 Latin Mixx Awards. After earning a nomination for “Best
DJ Producer” at the 2012 Global Spin Awards, he was named Best Remixer of the Year in 2013. He is currently the official DJ for Dyckman Basketball Tournaments, the #1 Streetball Tournament in New York City.
His brand reaches far beyond just the music industry. In his East Harlem neighborhood, he organizes a series of outdoor gatherings known as Tedsmooth’s Old School Jams. The annual series features musical performances by legendary DJ s from all over the world. In addition, he hosts community-based events at La Casita Community Garden, which he’s managed for over 10 years.
