An uninvited wedding guest in his mid 40s walked away with a gift box containing $60,000, according to Glendale police.

The theft happened Saturday night while Nadeen and George Farahat were celebrating their wedding at the Renaissance Hall in Glendale.

“He was seen using the facilities, walking around the location. And at one point, he moved towards the gift area where the box was located, grabbed it, and then left the building,” Sergeant Jose Barajas told KNX News’ Pete Demetriou.

Video showed the man run out of the back door of the hall, climb a wall, and get into a Black BMW Sedan, according to police. Detectives are working to get a make of the getaway car and are looking at photos taken by guests to see if they can get a clear image of the suspect.

Barajas said this is the first theft of its type in Glendale in many years.
