
Police sought the public's assistance Friday in locating a hit-and-run suspect who severely injured a 76-year-old woman in Van Nuys.
The crash occurred Wednesday at about 9:05 p.m., when a dark-colored SUV traveling westbound on Saticoy Street from Van Nuys Boulevard struck the woman who was crossing the street at Saticoy, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The motorist continued westbound on Saticoy without stopping to aid the injured woman, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the woman to a hospital with critical injuries.
"Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves," police said in a statement.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash was urged to contact LAPD Valley Traffic detectives at 818-644-8036.
