Philadelphia Eagles star pass rusher Haason Reddick is having surgery on his thumb, an injury he suffered in Monday's practice, according to Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport reports that Reddick is having the surgery so he is ready for the start of the season.
Reddick, 28, is coming off of his best NFL season where he recorded 16.0 sacks and five forced fumbles in his first regular season as an Eagle, plus another 3.5 sacks in three playoff games.
Reddick signed a three-year deal worth $45 million in March of 2022 as a free-agent with Philadelphia, but recently made comments about being underpaid.
When asked if he feels he is underpaid, the Camden, NJ native told the media in early August, "Ya'll see it. Ya'll know what's going on."
Reddick is the 15th highest paid edge rusher in the NFL and last year he had more sacks than anyone in the NFL, when including the postseason.
