(610 Sports) - By now, we've all seen the memes and the jokes surrounding head coach Andy Reid's face shield that he wore during the Chiefs season opening win over the Houston Texans. Fans and media alike, poked fun at the amount of fog that formed on the inside of the shield, prompting illustrations of quarterback Patrick Mahomes drawing up plays in the fog and inspiring companies to offer solutions to Reids woes. The fun spilled over into Wednesday's media session, as one reporter asked Mahomes about the face shield and if it caused any distraction during the game.

"Was it at all difficult for you to talk to Andy through the fogged face shield, the other day, was it a little bit of a funny dynamic," Mahomes was asked? Laughing, Mahomes had this to say about their interaction on the field, "I actually saw it but didn't even notice it until after the game. You see it but you're so into the game and I wasn't really focused on it but I had already said something, we had a practice in the rain and I said he needed a windshield wiper and he laughed about it but it actually would have come into play the other day."

As far as a distraction, it didn't look to slow anything down for the Chiefs offense and listening to Patrick, it doesn't seem to be much of a distraction. It will be interesting to see what adjustments coach Reid makes this week, when the Chiefs take on the Chargers in Los Angeles.
