It's almost here – this weekend, Chiefs rookies will report to St. Joes for the start of the team's 2022 Training Camp. Things will start pretty slow until the veterans report next week, but there are still plenty of storylines to watch out for as the season gets underway. The Chiefs have plenty of rookies that will be expected to contribute from Day 1, so what's the biggest storyline to watch there? Arrowhead Pride's Pete Sweeney joined 610's Fescoe In The Morning on Thursday to give his take.
"I think the biggest thing is Skyy Moore on the offensive side of the ball," he said. "I think making sure that his hamstring is in order. We saw some issues in the offseason workouts, and he eventually eased into a full participant. He's a big piece of this, right? They drafted him so high for a reason – they want him to have an immediate impact. And then, of course, on the defensive side of the ball, you want to make sure that Karlaftis and McDuffy are okay. They haven't had any issues when it comes to injury, but they too are Day 1, Week 1 starters. So just making sure that these guys, especially those that are really going to be significant contributors on Day 1, are in good shape and ready to go. Then you sort of wait for the veterans to get there next week."
