
WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Waterbury Police are investigating the death of a woman found dead in a car that was submerged in water early Sunday morning.
Investigators say that just before 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, a utility worker reported finding a car submerged in a body of water at Lakewood Park. The car's headlights were still on. The worker had responded to a power outage in the area.
The woman was found "unresponsive." She was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The Region 5 Dive Team pulled the black Honda Civic out of the water.
Police believe she was the only person in the car.
It's not clear exactly when or how the car got into the water with the woman inside.
Police have not released the woman's identity.
