Christine and Salt caught up with Jojo Brucato and Evie Kieran, two talented dancers representing Team USA at the World Tap Dance Championships in Prague! Jojo and Evie, part of a Connecticut-based crew, shared their excitement, saying they’re having a blast and keeping an eye on Team Mexico and Team Great Britain—their biggest competition.
The girls also revealed some words of wisdom from their gold medal-winning coach, Jillian McNamara: “Get out there, look the judges in the eye, and give it your all!”

Their team includes dancers from Wallingford, Cheshire, North Haven, and beyond, with Scotland Forbush, dance mom Cheri's daughter, also on the roster. Cheri, from Durham, said their group represents 22 studios from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Indiana. Only three routines per country are allowed in each age group and category, making it a huge achievement for so many local dancers to qualify.
Adding to the excitement, one team has already been disqualified for using a song with inappropriate lyrics!
Stay tuned to 96.5 TIC as Christine and Salt continue checking in with Team USA throughout the week for more updates from Prague! 🎶✨
