Gear stolen from St. Louis firefighters while battling fire

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Fire Department is asking for help to get back equipment that was stolen from them while crews were battling a fire in north St. Louis.

They say two large saws – a Husqvarna K970 and STIHL 16-inch chainsaw – were stolen from a fire truck on Wednesday morning. It happened while firefighters were searching for people and fighting a fire inside a two-story apartment building in the 4000 block of Kingshighway.

Firefighters shared photos of the missing saws on social media and asked for help:

They have some distinct markings on them, which say "T-10" or "TRUCK 10." If you see them or know where they may be, you're asked to call St. Louis Police.

The tweet has been flooded with comments from people disgusted by the fact that someone would steal from firefighters.

"I swear. People just really piss me off sometimes," stated @salty_911.

"That’s hard core wrong man," wrote @donofalltrades1.
