The San Diego Padres have signed 3rd round pick Cole Wilcox out of the University of Georgia. The talented pitcher was considered a 1st round talent by many evaluators, but slipped to the 3rd round in the draft due to concerns about his signability. During the 2020 season, Wilcox had a 3-0 record with a 1.57 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 32 Ks and 2 BBs in 23 innings pitched. Get to know Cole Wilcox!

June 30, 2020 3rd-rder Cole Wilcox signs with @Padres for $3.3 million (slot 80 value = $767,800). Georgia RHP, fastball can reach 100 mph, power slider & fading changeup can flash plus. Sets @MLBDraft 3rd-rd bonus record, eclipsing $3 mil SD gave Hudson Head last year.
