Sometimes in radio and in life...you have to suspend reality for a moment.  We had one of those moments Monday on Ben & Woods.  As Ben and I were discussing the incredible run by the Raptors and Kawhi Leonard, I commented that while it would be very hard for Raptors fans to see him go, they got their ring, the trade was worth it, and flags fly forever.

Then this weird scenario popped into my head:  would I trade budding superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. right now...today...if it guaranteed me a World Series Championship for the Padres?  Many of you got the spirit of the discussion.  Many of you did not.  I'm assuming those of you who didn't probably have a really hard time watching say...Field of Dreams.  "Hey...there's no way that could happen!  Joe Jackson died in 1951!"  It was a discussion for discussion's sake.  The results surprised me, honestly.

Make no mistake:  I LOVE watching Bebo play.  I love how he takes extra bags. I love how he ATTACKS pitches in the zone.  I love that he throws harder than the league average for pitchers FROM SHORTSTOP.  But man...to see this team get the ever elusive World Series banner hanging in Petco Park....it'd be tough to say no.

But the next time you engage...please keep this in mind:  four hours on the radio is a long long time to fill every day.  Sometimes yes, we'll come up with hypotheticals to spark discussion, but mostly they're done to make Ben uncomfortable.  Flags Fly Forever...Bits Do Not.
