Manny Machado was limited to DH-duties and missed several games towards the end of the season, and acknowledged towards the end of September that his elbow had been bothering him for the past 2 years. Machado said he'd likely need to have offseason elbow surgery. The Padres announced on Tuesday that Machado underwent right elbow extensor tendon repair surgery. The procedure was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Machado’s estimated recovery timeline is 4-6 months. Machado ended the 2023 season 30 home runs, 91 RBIs and a .782 OPS.
