The Pirates on the other hand had 12 hits, putting runners on base all night against Dylan Cease, who gave up 7 hits and a walk with 3 earned runs in just 4.2 innings of work, as the Pirates went on to win 5-0. Randy Vasquez will take the ball for the Padres in Sunday's rubber match.
