Can you feel it in the air? Can you see it before your eyes? It's the feeling of real optimism that you can see with your own eyes around Petco Park this weekend. The first four games of the season could not have been better for San Diego baseball fans, with the Padres winning the four-game set with the San Francisco Giants to kick off the season.
This team has swagger and energy, and although it's only four games into the 2019 season, life just looks different when you come to the ballpark feeling like you have a chance to win. I have always said that when your team wins, your food tastes better, your kids gets smarter, and your wife get better looking.

— San Diego Padres (@Padres) April 1, 2019Padres fans have been told over and over again, ‘Just you wait, talent is on the way.’ Seeing Fernando Tatis Jr. play this past weekend was the promise that finally came true.
#Neverbunt ... unless, maybe, you're #Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr. & have elite speed (30.1 ft/second, per @statcast) and the 3B is back. The only time in #MLB history a younger player has had multiple hits in his @MLB debut on #OpeningDay: 1937, #RedSox's 19-year-old Bobby Doerr pic.twitter.com/YlvHLOCHNg
— MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) March 28, 2019One of the biggest hits this weekend was the "Anchorman" race ...

— San Diego Padres (@Padres) March 30, 2019On the flipside, the Giants didn't have much a spark, and the bats just weren't there. You didin't see much bat speed, and they stuggled to score and run. Was it them, or was it four youngsters with strong pitching performances?

— SF Giants Report (@sfgiants_fanly) April 1, 2019In case you hadn’t noticed, I have not bragged about my pick for the NCAA Tourney. Nope. I am dust. my vision of Coach K and Zion Williamson cutting down the nets is not to be. Only one number one seed in UVA, so i don’t feel too bad that the committee didn't get it right either. At least I have baseball to watch now to take my mind off things.
