The Padres came from behind and then blew the game wide open en-route to a 10-4 win over the Cubs on Monday night. With the win, the Padres improved to a franchise-best 11-0 at home to begin the season, and matched the team's best 17-game start to a season at 14-3. Fernando Tatis Jr. kicked off the scoring with a solo homer in the 3rd inning, but the Padres lead would be short-lived. Michael Busch hit a 2-run homer in the top of the 4th, after a Manny Machado error allowed Justin Turner to reach base, to put the Cubs up 2-1. The Cubs added another run that inning on an RBI-double from Pete Crow-Armstrong to go up 3-1.

The Grit Squad never gives up though. In the 6th inning, Jose Iglesias brought in a run on a swinging bunt with the bases loaded, and then Jason Heyward delivered an RBI-single to tie the game. The Padres loaded the bases again in the 7th, and after Tatis scampered home on a wild pitch to take the lead 4-3, Gavin Sheets ripped a 2-run double to make it 6-3. After the Cubs scored a run in the 7th to get to within 2 runs, Tatis and Luis Arraez hit back-to-back long balls to bust the game wide open. Another run would cross the plate on a fielder's choice from Iglesias, and the rout was on. Tatis ended the night 2-4 with a walk, 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
