The Aztecs had a great week in Las Vegas participating in the Players Era Festival, earning wins over #21 Creighton and #6 Houston, while losing to the eventual champion Oregon Ducks. The Aztecs overtime win over the Cougars will carry significant weight for their NCAA Tournament resume on Selection Sunday. SDSU's performance didn't go unnoticed by AP voters, as the Aztecs made their 2025 AP Poll debut at #24 on Monday.
Meanwhile, Miles Byrd was named the Mountain West Player of the Week after averaging 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks over three games and being named to the all-tournament team in the Players Era Festival. Pharaoh Compton was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week after averaging 9 points, 2.7 rebounds and a steal while shooting 65% from the floor in Las Vegas.
