The most surefire way to reduce a hangover is by not drinking.  But hey it’s the weekend, you might want to kick back a cocktail or three.

If you always dread the next morning after a night out, a new study has found probably the next best way to deal with a hangover besides avoiding alcohol altogether.

A new study, published in the journal Addictive Behaviours, found that the best way to deal with a hangover is by working out!  Before you hit the gym after a night at the bar, it’s not working out while you have a hangover.

According to The Conversation, regular workouts, even as low as 30 minutes of moderate exercise a week, has proven to help deal with hangovers.  Researchers explained that it’s likely due to the endorphins that are released during workouts that help build up your pain tolerance.

The endorphins also help you sleep better, reduce inflammation, and helps build up your metabolism which could help clear the alcohol out of your system faster.

Rather than working out regularly, maybe we’ll stick with our old methods of eating Whataburger taquitos at 2am on the way home from the bar.  The grease helps absorb the alcohol…supposedly!
