Change in leadership could be coming for some Greenville County Cities...
Ballots will be cast today for city mayors, council persons and public works officials. A Greenville County press release also states 21 Public Service Districts are electing commissioners.
Most normal polling places will be open from 7am to 7pm, with the exception of schools and locations with day care on premises.
The Voter Registration and Election Office mailed out over 34,000 notices to let voters know if their normal polling place has changed for today.
The new voting system, ExpressVote, will be used to cast ballots.
In the paper-based system, voters will make their selection on a touch screen "ballot marking device," (B-M-D) and a paper ballot will print.
According to SCVotes.org, the B-M-D does not record choices into its memory.
The printed paper ballot will go into a scanner that counts and saves the votes.
Then those paper copies will be saved and used as backups to verify and audit election results.

This includes mayors, council persons, and public works officials. For city elections, most of the normal polling places will be open with exceptions for schools and locations with day-care on premises.
In some instances, voters will be voting at a different location so the Greenville County Voter Registration and Election office mailed more than 34,000 notices to voters affected by those changes.

These are what is considered to be the standard “off year” voting locations. Additionally, the new voting system for Greenville County (and the State of South Carolina) will be in use for the first time in all polling places on Tuesday, November 5th.
