The driver of a 1999 Ford was killed in a crash Monday evening in Cherokee County.
Trooper Joe Hovis with the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the driver was headed north on Childers Road around 5:25pm when he ran off to the left side of the roadway, hit a ditch and overturned.
He was trapped inside. The driver did pass away at the scene from injuries he sustained.
The Coroner identified the driver as 43 year old Samuel Jerome Robertson.
At the time of the crash, Robertson was wearing a seatbelt.
