A man recently released from the South Carolina Department of Corrections has just been arrested again – this time for a litany of sex crimes involving a minor.
According to the Greer Police Department, Jonathan Sarratt, age 29, of Taylors, was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on Tuesday.
He’s facing two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 11, first degree; two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, third degree; and two counts of child neglect.
The alleged sex abuse occurred over the span of three years, beginning in early 2014 when the victim was under the age of five years old.
The new warrants for Sarratt’s arrest were delivered to him while he was imprisoned on other charges for shoplifting and receiving stolen goods. He was then "released," although was immediately booked back into jail for the new charges.
Sarratt’s girlfriend Sashley Burnett was arrested back in 2018 in connection with the case.
