Walt Disney World Resorts has officially revealed that the Space 220 restaurant at Epcot’s Spaceship Earth will open this fall.
While an official date has yet to be revealed, a grand opening is scheduled for mid-September.
The Space 220 restaurant, which will be located next to Epcot’s Mission: SPACE attraction, will provide an out-of-this-world fine dining “immersive” experience.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, diners will check in at the Departure Lounge in Future World.
From there, they will board “Space Elevators” that will transport them to Centauri Space Station. The blog notes that this journey will make guests feel as though they are being taken 220 miles above Earth.
On the ascent, guests will see Epcot and Orlando fade from their view when they leave Earth, and will see the space station as they get closer to docking.
The dining area will provide panoramic news of Earth along with “leisure activities taking place beyond the windows of the Space Station-themed restaurant.”
The menu, curated by executive chef Marc Kusche, is described as "upscale, contemporary.”
Though dishes have yet to be revealed, it will reportedly feature “stellar dishes and gourmet recipes,” with a two-course prix fixe menu for lunch and a three-course option for dinner.
Unique beverages will also be available for adults 21 and older, including fine wine, craft beers, and “atmospheric cocktails.”
This is just one of Disney’s latest ventures into space as the entertainment resort announced the new “Star Wars” Galactic Starcruiser hotel.
The stay -- which is on the pricier side with a 2-night package starting at $4,809 for two people, and $5,999 for four people -- will allow superfans to fully immerse themselves in the “galaxy far, far away” by sleeping onboard a life-size starship and going on customized missions with characters from the sci-fi world.
The package also includes a one-day admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, home to Star Wars Galaxy Edge, and 2 breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes. Other perks include 1 quick-service meal at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with an alcohol option for guests over 21, valet parking, and an exclusive Galactic Starcruiser MagicBand.
