Who doesn’t love April Fools' Day?
Of course, be sure to exercise caution and tread lightly when it comes to big companies making waves with outlandish and sometimes unbelievable "announcements" on April 1 that seem almost too good to be true.
Here’s the best of the bunch, so far:
Velveeta, famous for a variety of processed cheese foods, shared news of their new "V by Velveeta" line of skin care products. "The gold standard of skin care has arrived," the company tweeted.
Affordable Swedish home goods manufacturer Ikea introduced the hilarious "Hund Couture," described as "a range of couture outfits for dogs. Sleek, sophisticated Swedish design can now be enjoyed by our hunds – that’s Swedish for Dogs. Woof."
Outback Steakhouse, home of the calorie-busting Bloomin’ Onion, also ventured into the cosmetics industry with a line of lipstick that "will have you looking like a delicious entrée." The company later said it was meant as an April Fools' Joke, "but it doesn’t have to be."
Jif peanut butter announced a new partnership with beauty, cosmetic and personal care giant ISPY called "That Jif’ing Good." The Facebook post showcased a picture of an exfoliating and hydrating mask made of peanut butter "packed with vitamins, nourishing oils and 100% a joke."
Here's a combination we never imagined: Peeps-packed vegetables made an appearance just in time for Easter as Green Giant rolled out the cauliflower-flavored bunnies mashup no one asked for.
This is an April Fools' Day prank that would actually be useful: LEGO teased "SmartBricks," a groundbreaking, new technology that would help parents never step on their child’s scattered LEGOs again. Can this one be true?
Hard seltzers are all the rage these days, and Bug Light is getting in on the craze with another odd flavor combination. Their line of pizza-flavored seltzers includes anchovy, pepperoni, cheese and veggie.
Enjoy the fun and don't believe everything you read, especially today.
