Meatless alternatives are saturating the market, but that doesn’t mean the quality or size has to suffer.

In fact, one company decided to kick things up a notch by achieving a monster of a burger.
Finnebrogue Artisan, a family-owned company in Northern Ireland, debuted the biggest-ever vegan burger.
How big? We’re talking about a burger that weighs over 358 pounds and measures almost four feet in diameter.
Oh, and it’s also the Guiness World Record winner!
NPR reports that the meatless patty consists of soy and gluten-free pea protein. 10 colleagues worked together build it up with 10 pounds of lettuce, 22 pounds of tomatoes, roughly 4.5 pounds of onion, 11 pounds of gherkins, more than 15 pounds of vegan cheese, 11 pounds of the company-made vegan bacon, and topped off with 11 pounds of its burger sauce, The Irish Post reports.
And you can’t have a burger without a bun, which Anthea McAuley, a representative from Finnebrogue Artisan, told The Irish Post, is made of a “vegan bread bun” in partnership with a local bakery.
The basis was the company’s Naked Evolution burger. McAuley noted that it was equivalent to 1274 of their standard sized burgers and said “all ingredients had to be verified as vegan.”
Sean Kearney, Finnebrogue’s Innovation Process Manager, said the patty took almost “nine hours to cook.”
“However, when we added all the condiments and Jack revealed the weight of the burger, we were elated!” he added.
The burger was listed in the book of world records in November.
And for those eco-friendly people who have the planet’s best interest in mind, no food was wasted as the burger leftovers were donated to homeless charity The Simon Community.
In fact, the wealth was widespread with McAuley noting that the “staff also enjoyed the burger for their lunch.”
